Truth, Reason & Liberty: On the anti-cuts march in Manchester

Truth, Reason & Liberty: On the anti-cuts march in Manchester

An interesting analysis of power relations in the context of the uprising to come.

The author argues that the grassroots feel not only disenfranchised and alienated from Westminster, but from all traditional organisational structures that are supposed to represent civil society.

He argues that only true people power consisting of a campaign of united mass direct action will bring the Government to the negotiating table. Only a public show of overwhelming power, force, might and solidarity will succeed in achieving the goal of ending the cuts and austerity régime.

If one is persuaded by his argument then there is an awesome task of organisation and political agitation and co-ordination to be accomplished here and now.

It's a bleak view, for sure. But he doesn't mince his words or pull any punches!
